Signs it’s time to replace your gutters
- Sagging or pulling away from the house, especially along long runs.
- Leaks at multiple seams or corners, often leaving stains on siding or masonry.
- Overflow in heavy rain, even right after a cleaning. The gutter is undersized or poorly pitched.
- Rot or soft spots in the fascia board behind the gutter.
- Rust, holes or peeling paint on older steel or painted gutters.
- Water pooling along the foundation or in the basement after storms.
- Spike-and-ferrule hangers popping out of the gutter face, common on gutters from the 1960s–1990s.
If you see two or more of these, repairs are usually throwing good money after bad.
What a replacement includes
- Removal of the old gutters, downspouts and hangers, hauled away.
- Fascia and drip edge inspection. Rotted wood is replaced. Missing drip edge is flagged.
- New seamless gutters formed on site in 5” or 6”, color-matched.
- Hidden hangers at proper spacing for snow and ice.
- New downspouts, often larger and better placed than the originals, plus extensions.
- Optional micro-mesh guards fitted to the new system.
- Water test, cleanup and walkthrough.
What affects the price
Every replacement is quoted in writing after we measure, but price is driven by:
- Total linear feet of gutter and downspout
- Home height and access (one story vs two or three)
- Gutter size (5” vs 6”) and color
- Number of corners, downspouts and roof levels
- Fascia repair needed
- Adding gutter guards
See our pricing guide for current ranges.
Replacing gutters? Add guards now
New gutters are the best time to add gutter guards. They fit perfectly on fresh, correctly pitched gutters and cost less to add during the same visit.
